How To Add A Global Folder To A Collaboration
If you are designated as a collaboration administrator, you may add global folders to a collaboration.
To add a global folder to a collaboration, bring up the the Unity
interface (see Displaying The Unity Interface).
Then expand the "Collaborations" node, expand your collaboration node,
right-click on the "Global Folders" node to bring up the global folder context menu, and click "Add Global Folder".
I do not have an "Add Global Folder" option. Why?
You must be a collaboration administrator add global folders. If you
are missing this option, ask your administrator to give you administrator
privilege for the collaboration.
Fill out the form, and click "Add" to add the global folder to the system.
- Local: This describes to you what the absolute location of your new global folder will be.
- Name: The name of the global folder. Since global folders become actual directories on every collaborator's system, the characters allowed are restricted to those characters which are allowed in standard directory names.
- Assign To Security Zone: Choose which security zone the new global folder should be associated with. Note that the folder and its contents will only be accessible to members of the security zone you choose. Note also that if the security zone is a shadow zone, the global folder will only be visible to other administrators, and members of the shadow zone who have activated it.
- Users Can Create Files: Check to allow users to create files within the new global folder, or leave blank to prevent the creation of files within the new global folder.
- Users Can Create Folders: Check to allow users to create folders within the new global folder, or leave blank to prevent the creation of folders within the new global folder.
